Joining the practices highly regarded family law team, the successful candidate will work closely with the senior members of the department and run a busy case load of all family matters.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the firm’s solicitors with a mixed case load of privately and publicly funded work
- Handling case load of predominantly privately funded work and some publicly funded work
- Working on all types of family matters
- Advising clients
- File management
- Oversee due diligence to legal aid applications
- Adhering to monthly file reviews and ensuring files are compliant, making adjustments when necessary
- Manage and run full case load
- Preparing client letters
- Drafting statements
- Preparing briefs for counsel
- Conducting conferences with clients in person and via video conferencing
- Instructing experts
- Preparing matters for court
- Ensuring high data integrity, attention to detail and representing the firm and the client to the highest standard
- Take over existing case load and business development

The Candidate

- Must have experience of mixed files – Divorce, Finance, Children

Joining the practices highly regarded Family team, the successful candidate will work closely with the senior members of the departments and assist with running a busy case load of types of family matters from instruction to conclusion, as well as undertaking training in other areas of law within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the firm’s solicitors with a mixed case load of privately and publicly funded work in various departments
- Exposure to complex international work
- Working on all types cases
- File management
- Adhering to monthly file reviews and ensuring files are compliant, making adjustments when necessary
- Preparing client letters
- Drafting statements
- Preparing briefs for counsel
- Instructing experts
- Briefs to counsel
- Attending client meetings and events
- Drafting attendance notes
- Drafting letters and emails to clients
- Conducting legal research
- Bundling (i.e. preparing a folder of court documents)
- Drafting and negotiating legal documents
- Proofreading documents
- Conducting due diligence
Non-fee earning tasks include:
- Keeping a weekly record of work completed while on training contract (if successful)
- Administrative tasks, such as filing, printing, and scanning documents
- Preparing internal training presentations
- Attending training sessions and internal events
- Taking part in pro bono initiatives

- Applications are welcomed from paralegals and graduates of LPC interested in a career in Family Law

- Must be an Legal Aid supervisor or have relevant experience and be willing to obtain supervisor status

Joining the practices highly regarded criminal law team, the successful candidate will work closely with the senior members of the department and run a busy case load of all criminal, regulatory and POCA matters from instruction to conclusion. Upon successful completion of a probationary period they will be trained to achieve the Law Society’s Police Station Accreditation (PSQ) (if not already qualified and have the opportunity to ultimately qualify as a solicitor.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the firm’s solicitors with a mixed case load of privately and publicly funded work
- Working on all types of criminal offences from Summary only to serious Crown Court cases
- File management
- Adhering to monthly file reviews and ensuring files are compliant, making adjustments when necessary
- Manage and run full case load

- Preparing briefs for counsel
- Liaising with clients in person and over the telephone and via video conferencing
- Instructing experts
- Briefs to counsel
- If not already qualified as a police station representative, will be helped through the process of gaining the qualification to represent clients at the police station and join the firm’s out of hours on call rota (evenings and weekends).
